DALLAS, June 2, 2021 - COMSovereign Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: COMS) ("COMSovereign" or "the Company"), salutes Major League Baseball and its millions of fans as they celebrate the inaugural Lou Gehrig Day on Wednesday, June 2nd, at all MLB games across the United States.

Affectionately known as the “Iron Horse,” Lou Gehrig is one of the greatest players in all of baseball history. On June 2, 1925, Gehrig became the Yankees starting first baseman on his way to his legendary streak of 2,130 consecutive games played, which ended on April 30, 1939 and would stand for more than 60 years. Gehrig’s career is highlighted with two American League Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards, a Triple Crown, six World Series championships, seven All-Star appearances and the 1934 batting title. His farewell speech to the baseball world on July 4, 1939, amid the struggles of a debilitating disease, displayed the humanity and grace that has become synonymous with his legacy. He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in December 1939. Gehrig succumbed to ALS on June 2, 1941. (Courtesy: MLB)

At COMSovereign, our ties to both Gehrig and the fight against Neuromuscular Disease run deep. Our Co-Founder and President John E. Howell is the Grandson of Dr. Caldwell “Essy” Esselstyn, Lou’s dear friend and personal physician. The Esselstyns and Eleanor, Lou’s Widow, remained the closest of friends for the rest of their lives.

Today, John serves as the President of the New York-based Foundation, known also as The Lou Gehrig Society, to which Eleanor entrusted much of the Gehrig Estate upon her death. The Gehrigs did not have children; caring for their interests and supporting causes of value in their names has been a labor of love for Howell and his family for the generations since.

In advance of the MLB Gehrig Observances, Howell said, “The Gehrigs had strong feelings about doing things the right way, for the right reasons, and doing so with courage, dignity, and gratitude. They would have been humbled and delighted to see what the Commissioner, Fellow Clubs, Players and Fans are doing now in his name to fight ALS. Gehrig was all about Team… He would have been embarrassed by…but absolutely loved this!”

On this special day, the COMSovereign Family congratulates all in the baseball community and encourages you to generously support those fighting ALS in the research lab.
